Struggle of Ir. Soekarno
On July 4, 1927 Ir. Soekarno established the Indonesian National Party (PNI) with the goal of immediately independent Indonesia. In fact, on December 29, 1929, the Dutch put him in Sukamiskin prison in Bandung until December 31, 1931. He was released and later joined Partindo but for the second time Ir. Soekarno was arrested and exiled to Ende, Flores in 1933. Then he was transferred to Bengkulu. After going through a long struggle, he and Bung Hatta proclaimed the independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 1945.
