that April Fool's Day was celebrated at first
in France in 1582. It happened the result of
the contradiction of the calender change.
Pope Gregory XIII changed the calender by
adding 2 months to a year. It became 12
months just like we have now instead of 10
months. Those who disagreed still wanted
to celebrate New Year from March 25 until
April 1 just like what they had been doing all
the previous years. Those who agreed with
the change made a fool of those who
disagreed by sending them an invitation to
celebrate April 1 as the New Year. In fact,
there was no such invitation. They were
being fooled.
